As Iunderstand the position person
named has been ordered to leave but
declines to comply with the Order,
thereby breaking the undertaking
which she gave on entering the
Colony. If no action is taken
against her, her success would
encourage other women evacuated
from the Colony to follow her
example, and the measure of
evacuation imposed on grounds of
defence on instructions from H.M.G.
would be nullified. In these
circumstanges I cannot see any
alternative to proceeding with
action against person named.
I am not, however, clear
whether you intend to proceed
against her under Regulation 4A as
published in the Gazette of the
29th June 1940, or in accordance
with
